This is the eighth installment of the Libertarian Manifesto of Collin County Libertarian Party member Albert Meyer. Albert has been kind enough to share this with us. We hope you find it useful.
Point Eight
To the pro-life Republican voter, we have simple message. War is not pro-life. The Republican Party is now the War Party. Their pro-life promises are thread bare, as they routinely vote for budgets that allocate money to institutions that perform abortions. It is pure hypocrisy to judge women, while cheerleading for more wars. We will cut the size of government to its Constitutional size. Hence, whether we personally support these non-for-profit abortion clinics or not is immaterial. The Constitution does not authorize the Federal government to take our hard-earned earnings and redistribute them to causes that could gain politicians votes. Cut these expenditures, let workers keep their wages, as they can best decide which charity or not-for-profit could make use of their hard-earned wages. The Republicans would no longer have to explain to their constituents why they betray them year after year when they vote on budget appropriations. The abortion debate will become a non-issue at Federal level (the Republicans will have to find another ruse to steal votes) and the pro-life Republicans will have more time to search their pro-war consciences.
